Drug & alcohol addiction treatment is a nationwide industry. People seeking assistance have options when it comes to getting sober. There are public and private programs, detox centers, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), to name a few. Given a variety of choices, deciding can feel overwhelming when it comes to choosing what program to enroll in and which company to trust. Unfortunately, many providers choose not to publicly disclose statistics related to their client success or program quality. One company, All In Solutions, took aim at this lack of transparency earlier this month.
All In Solutions owns and operates addiction treatment facilities across the country that offer programs ranging from detox to PHP & IOP. The Florida-based behavioral health company recently compiled a variety of values relating to their clients’ program completion rates. They then gathered national data for each criterion of interest and laid the numbers side by side for comparison. Here’s a brief breakdown of the results:
- According to the 2018 TEDS-D study, the average program completion rate for short-term residential (inpatient) treatment was 52%. In 2023, All In Solutions’ inpatient successful program completion rate was 86%.
- The same 2018 national survey demonstrated that on average, 26% of clients who enroll in an intensive outpatient program complete it. The study did not include data on partial hospitalization programs. In 2023, 74% of clients admitted to All In Solutions outpatient programs (including PHP and IOP) successfully completed treatment.
All In Solutions’ 2023 program completion report also included data on client satisfaction. At discharge, every client receives a satisfaction survey that touches on various topics, including the quality of the counseling staff, comfort levels, cleanliness, and overall rating of the treatment program. Below are a few of the results for all surveyed clients:
- “Overall Experience of the Treatment Program” was rated “excellent” or “very good” by 92% of surveyed clients.
- “Accommodations and Comfort” was rated as “excellent” or “very good” by 90% of surveyed clients.
- “Counseling Staff” was scored as “excellent” or “very good” by 93% of surveyed clients.
- 94% of clients felt “excellent” or “very good” that the outcome they hoped to achieve in treatment was achieved.
The final stats that All In Solutions shared in their 2023 Client Satisfaction & Program Completion Report were average length of stay per program. This information reinforces the client retention numbers reported in the program completion section and provides insight into the typical client journey:
- All In Solutions Wellness Center in West Palm Beach had an average stay of 12.8 days in 2023 (this included detox & residential).
- All In Solutions Detox in Simi Valley had an average stay of 12.2 days in 2023 (this included detox & residential).
- All In Solutions Counseling Center in Boynton Beach had an average stay of 29.9 days in 2023 (this included PHP & IOP).
- All In Solutions California in Simi Valley had an average stay 30.7 days in 2023 (this included PHP & IOP).
- All In Solutions Counseling Center Cherry Hill had an average stay of 42.3 days in 2023 (this included PHP & IOP).
Due to the chronic nature of the disease of addiction, relapse is unfortunately common. As a result, many treatment providers are hesitant to measure and share data including patient outcomes, program completion, and client satisfaction. The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers is hoping to bring greater transparency to the industry by launching their Foundation for Recovery Science and Education Outcomes Program.
